5–6 Classroom

Welcome to the wonderful fifth and sixth grade classroom. Through a cooperative partnership between staff, parents, community, and students, the goal in this classroom is for every child to achieve great growth personally, academically, and socially in a safe and healthy environment in a rigorous and relevant way.

The fifth and sixth grade curriculum includes reading, math, writing, spelling, science, social studies, music, library, physical education, art, technology, and weekly class meetings. Students are actively engaged in numerous enrichment activities throughout the year that utilize our incredible surroundings. For example, students participate in weekly walks that focusing on observation skills and physical fitness. A strong partnership with Glacier National Park allows this class many opportunities to work on cooperative projects. Skiing, Missoula Children's Theater, and swimming lessons are other examples of programs that the students participate in.
